Town Music Teacher

The music teacher, later Supervisor of Music, who visited each of Billerica's public schools to teach singing and music. The first, J. Avison Baker of Lowell, began about 1889. From the 1950s the schools had several music teachers, and the head of the program was called the music coordinator.
